The Board of Directors and the Homeric Award Committee of the Chian Federation request the honor of your presence at the 27th Annual Homeric Award Gala, honoring Dr. Stamatios M. Krimigis, Head Emeritus of the Space Department at the Applied Physics Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University. He is also Principal Investigator of the Voyager Interstellar Mission and the recent Cassini Mission to Saturn. The ceremony will take place on Saturday November 20th, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hellenic American Cultural Center of the Chian Federation 44-01 Broadway, Astoria, New York.
The Homeric Award was established twenty-seven years ago to honor distinguished individuals, advocates of human rights, democratic ideals and those who have furthered human knowledge. Dr. Krimigis’ life-long contributions to the field of space science have increased our understanding of the cosmos and improved the quality of life here on earth.
The Homeric festivities will be preceded at 7:00 pm with an informal get-to-know session between Dr. Krimigis and members of the press.
